A Change Does Loli Good

In the beginning, some of the old gods ran rampant across the heavens. One such god was Loli, the goddess of change. She, along with her cohort Morgo the trickster god, delighted in causing mischief and mayhem to any god they came in contact with. The pair were inseparable and many gods cursed the very existence of such a coupling. But when the bickering began in the heavens about who would be the ultimate ruler of the gods, so did the bickering between the heaven’s mischievous couple.

Loli believed that the twins of Arex and Jinju would be the best choice. At least they offered the opportunity of the most amount of change, which the goddess of change was all for. While Loli backed the twin’s bid for the ruler, Morgo backed the small group of gods led by the sisters of Elysha and Saol. He lent his support for much the same reason Loli had offered her own. The small group of gods were his favorites to trick and if the twin gods controlled the heavens, those that stood against them would be punished. And if Elysha and the others were punished, he would not be able to trick them anymore.

So as the tensions grew among the gods, so did the tension between Loli and Morgo. When it was clear neither would change their minds about who they would support, Loli’s fickle nature took hold and she parted ways with her long-time companion with nothing more than a dispassionate wave of her hand. For her, it was just that simple to part with the only other god that understood her completely. Morgo may have been her other half, but now that he was gone she was whole again.

After her break with the trickster god, Loli threw herself into doing what she did best, change. It wasn’t long after that split, that the twin gods seized control of the heavens and proclaimed themselves rulers. And at their side was Loli, overjoyed at the change she had helped bring about.

The triumph of the changes brought about in the heavens was short-lived for the goddess who represented change itself. Loli soon began to be bored with the routine of torture and retaliation the twin gods put their new subjects through. And every god in the heavens knew a bored goddess of change was never a good thing. Luckily for everyone, Jinju had anticipated this and knew how to relieve the boredom that was quickly taking over the young goddess.

One of the gods, Baelbus, had escaped when it was clear Jinju and Arex were the victors in the war for the heavens. And that was unacceptable to the new rulers. So the twins sent Loli to the other realms to hunt down the slippery deity. Of course, Loli leaped at the chance, not because of any loyalty to the new rulers, but because of the change of pace, it would give her to wander the other realms.
