Saol created two races to rescue her and then fell into a deep sleep. This was the opportunity that Loli needed to prove she was more than some pawn in the old gods’ reign of terror. She could also be a caring and attentive partner if given the chance. Loli was convinced that if she helped Saol’s creations, the dryads, and the dwarves. The goddess of life would fall willingly into her arms once she had awoken.

And so Loli quickly set about helping the new races in their quest to find their slumbering goddess. It only took a short time before the dwarves realized that help from Loli was no help at all, and quickly cut ties between themselves and the goddess of change. The dryads, on the other hand, were not as quick in learning that lesson. But accepting help from the changeable goddess had unexpected consequences that not even Loli saw coming.

The dryads began to change fundamentally. Initially, the suggestion from Loli to use the magic of the world worked well for the new race in their search for their goddess. Of course, Loli knew where the goddess was hiding, but where would the fun be if she just handed the dryads the answer?

She also knew the magic the inhabitants of Rukan tapped into was from Saol herself, so what better way to have the dryads find the answer on their own than give them a direct line to the sleeping goddess? But Loli underestimated the dryads’ greed for power, and it wasn’t long before the magic that was supposed to lead them to their goddess began to corrupt them.

As soon as Loli noticed the change was racing through the noble race, she immediately left them to their fate. She had ruined her beloved’s race and now they would have a better chance at fixing her mistake without her. But this unintended result of her meddling impacted Loli more deeply than any other thing she had done in her long existence.

So instead of only leaving the dryads alone, Loli vowed to leave all the races of Rukan, including her doted on varuls, alone until she could interfere without destroying the objects of her meddling. And so the goddess of change retreated to the farthest end of the heavens, where her talents would not be a danger, without explanation or warning.

Only a few of her chosen from each generation were granted the visions, Loli’s cowardly way of justification to the people she had created and then abandoned. But cruelly enough, the varul she had blessed with this gift, saw it as a curse and many refused to share the knowledge they gained from the visions with the rest of their people. So Loli sat and watched helplessly as her creations turned her from a goddess to an annoying creator they begrudgingly acknowledged, but who was fickle and not to be trusted.
